In an almost cubical reactor 90 l in volume which is intended to deposit organic polymers by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD), microwave power is coupled into the volume via a quartz window which extends to approximately 1/10 of the sidewall area. Since the plasma is excited locally, plasma parameters like electron temperature and plasma density are expected to exhibit a spatial variation. The compilation of these plasma quantities has been accomplished with a bendable single Langmuir probe. To isolate the tungsten wire against its grounded housing tube, it was coated with polyparylene. After having compared this construction with our Langmuir probe, which has been now in use for more than a decade, we have taken data of more than half the volume of the reactor with argon and have found a definitive radial inhomogenity for all plasma parameters. To investigate whether this conduct can be determined applying optical emission spectroscopy, we improved our spectrometer which had been used for endpoint detection purposes and plasma diagnostics in chlorine-containing ambients where we could detect also a spatial dependence. This behavior is discussed in terms of Lieberman’s global model.  相似文献

Machinery such as pumps used for the commercial production of fermented milk products cause vibrations that can spread to the fermentation tanks. During fermentation, such vibrations can disturb the gelation of milk proteins by causing texture defects including lumpiness and syneresis. To study the effect of vibrations on yogurt structure systematically, an experimental setup was developed consisting of a vibration exciter to generate defined vibrational states and accelerometers for monitoring. During the fermentation of skim milk, vibrations (frequency sweep: 25 to 1,005 Hz) were introduced at different pH (5.7 to 5.1, step width 0.1 units) for 200 s. Physical properties of set gels (syneresis, firmness) and resultant stirred yogurts (visible particles, rheology, laser diffraction) were analyzed. Vibrational treatments at pH 5.5 to 5.2 increased syneresis, gel firmness, and the number of large particles (d > 0.9 mm); hence, this period was considered critical. The particle number increased from 34 ± 5 to 242 ± 16 particles per 100 g of yogurt due to vibrations at pH 5.4. In further experiments, yogurts were excited with fixed frequencies (30, 300, and 1,000 Hz). All treatments increased syneresis, firmness, and particle formation. As the strongest effect was observed by applying 30 Hz, the amplitude was set to vibration accelerations of a = 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 m/s2 in the final experiments. The number of large particles was increased due to each treatment and a positive correlation with the amplitude was found. We concluded that vibrations during gelation increase the collision probability of aggregating milk proteins, resulting in a compressed set gel with syneresis. Resultant stirred yogurts exhibit large particles with a compact structure leading to a reduced water-holding capacity and product viscosity.  相似文献

The effects of thermo-mechanical treatment on selected properties related to the structure of Fe-0.85Mo-0.65i-1.4C powder metallurgy (PM) steel are reported. Three kinds of initial microstructure of specimens, i.e., pearlite + ferrite + cementite, martensite + retained austenite and α + spheroidized cementite were examined. Processing was carried out on a plastometer-dilatometer Bähr machine by compression cylindrical specimens at 775 °C at a strain rate of 0.001 s?1. X-ray diffraction was carried out with symmetrical Bragg-Brentano and grazing incident angle methods on a D8-Advance diffractometer with filtered radiation of cobalt CoK α . The following features were determined: texture, density of dislocations, density of vacancies, lattice parameter of Fe α and mean size of crystallites. Significant differences in structure were observed, especially in quenched specimen, as a result of the thermo-mechanical treatment. Regardless of initial state of the specimens, the determined properties were on a similar level. Crystallite size was in the range 97-106 nm, crystallite texture (I{200}/I{110}) × 10 = 1.15-1.62 and density of vacancies I{110}/I{220} = 7.06-7.52.  相似文献

The flow around an isolated horizontal‐axis wind turbine is estimated by means of a new vortex code based on the Biot–Savart law with constant circulation along the blades. The results have been compared with numerical simulations where the wind turbine blades are replaced with actuator lines. Two different wind turbines have been simulated: one with constant circulation along the blades, to replicate the vortex method approximations, and the other with a realistic circulation distribution, to compare the outcomes of the vortex model with real operative wind‐turbine conditions (Tjæreborg wind turbine). The vortex model matched the numerical simulation of the turbine with constant blade circulation in terms of the near‐wake structure and local forces along the blade. The results from the Tjæreborg turbine case showed some discrepancies between the two approaches, but overall, the agreement is qualitatively good, validating the analytical method for more general conditions. The present results show that a simple vortex code is able to provide an estimation of the flow around the wind turbine similar to the actuator‐line approach but with a negligible computational effort. Mixed ionic–electronic conducting $La_{0.5} Sr_{0.5} Fe_{1 - x} B_x O_{3 - \delta } $ (B: Al, Cr, Zr, Ga, Ti, Sn, Ta, V, Mg, and In with x?=?0, 0.1, 0.2) perovskite materials were produced via solid-state synthesis. In order to study the effect of B-site substitution on the expansion behavior of these materials, their thermal expansion in air up to 900°C and isothermal expansion at the same temperature from air to Ar were measured by dilatometry. Ti and Ta were found to be the most effective substitutions in suppressing the isothermal expansion. The isothermal expansion at 900°C from air to Ar was reduced by 50% by substitution of 20% Ti or 10% Ta. Therefore, these compositions were further characterized by 4-probe total DC conductivity and permeation measurements under air/Ar gradient. The total conductivity of $La_{0.5} Sr_{0.5} FeO_{3 - \delta } $ was decreased by more than one order of magnitude at low temperatures and from 430 S/cm, which is the maximum, to around 100 S/cm at 500°C with the addition of Ti and Ta. The normalized oxygen permeation of LSF at 900°C decreased from 0.18 to 0.05 μmol/cm2s and 0.07 μmol/cm2s with the substitution of 20% Ti and 10% Ta, respectively.  相似文献

Despite improvements in vehicle design and safety technologies, frontal automotive collisions continue to result in a substantial number of injuries and fatalities each year. Although a considerable amount of research has been performed on PMHSs and ATDs, matched dynamic whole-body frontal testing with PMHSs and the current ATD aimed at quantifying both kinetic and kinematic data in a single controlled study is lacking in the literature. Therefore, a total of 4 dynamic matched frontal sled tests were performed with three male PMHSs and a Hybrid III 50th percentile male ATD (28.6 g, Δv = 40 kph). Each subject was restrained using a 4 kN load limiting, driver-side, 3-point seatbelt. Belt force was measured for the lap belt and shoulder belt. Reaction forces were measured at the seat pan, seat back, independent foot plates, and steering column. Linear head acceleration, angular head acceleration, and pelvic acceleration were measured for all subjects. Acceleration of C7, T7, T12, both femurs, and both tibias were also measured for the PMHSs. A Vicon motion analysis system, consisting of 12 MX-T20 2 megapixel cameras, was used to quantify subject 3D motion (±1 mm) at a rate of 1 kHz. Excursions of select anatomical regions were normalized to their respective initial positions and compared by test condition and between subject types. Notable discrepancies were observed in the responses of the PMHSs and the ATD. The reaction forces and belt loading for the ATD, particularly foot plate, seat back, steering column, and lap belt forces, were not in agreement with those of the PMHSs. The forward excursions of the ATD were consistently within those of the PMHSs with the exception of the left upper extremity. This could potentially be due to the known limitations of the Hybrid III ATD shoulder and chest. The results presented herein demonstrate that there are some limitations to the current Hybrid III ATD under the loading conditions evaluated in the current study. Overall, this study presents a comprehensive data set of belt forces, reaction forces, accelerations, and bilateral displacement data that can be used to evaluate the performance of ATDs and validate computational models.  相似文献
